Governance
Since 1997, the Kaipara Care Incorporated Board has met regularly. Members know each other well, and are bonded by the range of successful shared projects achieved over this (pre PHO) time. This relationship has fostered a willingness to work through disagreements, and develop a better understanding of each other's positions.
Membership on the Kaipara Care Board has been reviewed and balanced to reflect the Ministry of Health's Minimum Requirements for PHO's. (See Fig 1 below) It is expected that further divergent views will be expressed among new and current KCI Board members, frankness in discussion, as well as patience and compromise. Each of these aspects is a vital part of the PHO's governance and growth.
The Board of Directors, including, Iwi, community and healthcare providers, will assist the management team in making appropriate decisions and taking the most effective action. The current positions and diverse backgrounds of KCI's Board members provides a clear and reliable connection between Kaipara Care Incorporated and the community it serves.
