Julie MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES OF THE NURSE PROJECT MEETING HELD ON WEDNESDAY, 1st DECEMBER 2004 AT 12.15 CONFERENCE ROOM, COMMUNITY HEALTH, DARGAVILLE HOSPITAL Present: Alison Freemantle-Pilkington, Jen Udy, Laurene Tahu, Margaret Hearn, Viv Andrew, Cherry Waldron, Marion McCahon, Julie Robertson, Pam Baldwin, Kate McLaren, Dawn Miller, Julie Palmer, Mary Mun, Raey Stainton, Cynthia Nichols, Roxanne Kelly & Raewyn Fowlie Blessing of Xmas Kai: Welcome/Greeting: by facilitator Pam. Business: NIL Report - Update · Maureen Allan (NIL, TTT PHO) has been appointed to the NDHB by Annette King, MoH. · MeNZB campaign commenced 22nd Nov. 180.already immunised. Immunisation Team representation will be outside Woolworths / Warehouse next week. Marion gave information on alternatives. · Powerpoint Learning (NH Learning Centre) session was interesting and well attended. · Portfolio examples available and handed out. Guest Speaker – Roxanne Kelly, Sport Northland Roxanne spoke on her role change from a joint position between the school and community, to a fulltime community.based position. New office in the old PO building. She also spoke on the Green Prescription (i.e. Exercise/Activity based) and slow uptake in Kaipara – would like primary and community health workers to encourage participation. . Sport Northland becomes involved with increasing and monitoring activity – does not need to be strenuous. Pedometers free to bearers of Green Prescriptions. Roxanne available for a more indepth session on this service. Handouts available. 10,000 Steps – Part of a 3 year pilot project with an aim to make Northlanders the most active in NZ Presentation by Pam Baldwin Presented the services and products available from Health Options. Some free samples distributed. Other services/departments invited to do the same – let Julie know and she will schedule it into an agenda. In closing, Julie congratulated all for taking part in the kudos exercise, adding that she was pleased to be working with such a great team to be building on what was already firmly established – co-operation and integration between the defined nursing services of Kaipara. Kudos Exercise – To Give Acknowledgement and a Gift to a Colleague (organised by Julie P) · From Julie P to Raey – in acknowledgement of her work during Te Ha’s current transition and her colleagueship to all. · Cherry to DN’s – in acknowledgement of integration of services. · Jen – all nurses in the ward – and also to Julie Robertson in her handling of her new role as Paediatric Nurse. · Julie R to Cherry – in acknowledgement of her Asthma Nurse expertise and the assistance she has offered. · Raey to Julie P – for her work towards uniting all teams. · Dawn to Jen – for always having answers. · Shannon to Raewyn – for her admin skills. Kate to Shannon – for thinking outside the square. A feedback session was then held to discuss how everyone felt about this exercise. Amongst others, the issue of perceived Horizontal Violence was brought up, with most agreeing that this was not a big problem in the supportive Kaipara nursing environment. |
